Pamplona airport to La Rioja transfer
for Logroño and beyond
Our Pamplona airport to La Rioja transfer takes you privately from Pamplona (Noáin) Airport to Logroño or anywhere in La Rioja. Around 1 hour along the Autovía del Camino (the Camino motorway), fixed price, a driver waiting in arrivals and flight tracking included.
Why choose a transfer from Pamplona
Pamplona Airport,
an alternative to Bilbao
Noáin, south of the Navarrese capital, connects mainly with Madrid and a handful of domestic destinations. Its strong point for La Rioja is the motorway that follows the Camino de Santiago itself all the way to Logroño.
A direct route
About 90 km on the A-12, the Autovía del Camino: Puente la Reina, Estella, Los Arcos and Viana before entering Logroño. Around an hour, with no tolls.
Good domestic connections
Many international travellers fly into Noáin with a connection in Madrid, rather than making the long road journey from Barajas. You save hours of travel and arrive rested.
Ideal for the Camino
Pamplona is a stage town on the Camino Francés (the French Way). From Noáin we take pilgrims to Logroño, Nájera or Santo Domingo to start or resume their route, with backpacks and walking poles on board.

How the transfer from Pamplona works
Your driver is waiting
at Noáin
Noáin is a compact terminal: you collect your case and, at the exit, you will find your chauffeur holding your name. If your connection from Madrid is late, we have already seen it on the flight tracker and we wait without charging you extra.
Within minutes you are on the A-12 heading south. If you like, we can stop briefly in Estella or Viana to see the Camino before reaching your accommodation in La Rioja. Walking part of the route? See our Camino de Santiago transfers.

Quick answer: Pamplona Airport is about 90 km from Logroño, around an hour along the A-12. It is the natural choice for pilgrims on the Camino Francés and for anyone connecting in Madrid who would rather take a short flight to Navarre than spend three and a half hours on the road from Barajas.
The Autovía del Camino links Pamplona and Logroño, practically following in the pilgrims' footsteps: Puente la Reina, Estella, Los Arcos, Torres del Río and Viana. Once you reach the Rioja capital you can carry on west into the Rioja Alta or turn south-east towards the Rioja Baja. These are the approximate distances from Noáin:
| Destination from Noáin | Approx. km | Approx. time | Ideal for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logroño | ~90 km | ~1 h | Pilgrims starting a stage in the capital and business travellers. |
| Laguardia | ~95 km | ~1 h 10 | Wine breaks in the Rioja Alavesa, coming in via Viana. |
| Calahorra | ~100 km | ~1 h 10 | Via the Ribera of Navarre; handy for the Rioja Baja. |
| Nájera | ~115 km | ~1 h 15 | Start of a stage at the monastery of Santa María la Real. |
| Arnedo | ~120 km | ~1 h 25 | Business visits to the footwear industry. |
| Santo Domingo de la Calzada | ~135 km | ~1 h 30 | The last major Camino stop before Burgos. |
| Haro | ~135 km | ~1 h 30 | Century-old wineries; you get there sooner from Bilbao or Vitoria. |
Figures are approximate and depend on the time of day and the exact pick-up or drop-off point.
Noáin – Logroño: starting the Camino in the capital
Many pilgrims with only a few days choose to walk just the La Rioja section. They land in Pamplona, we take them to Logroño and they set off on foot the next day from the Puente de Piedra (Stone Bridge). There are more details on our Camino de Santiago transfer in Logroño page.
Noáin – Nájera and Santo Domingo
If you prefer to start further west, the journey is a few minutes longer. We combine the transfer with our Camino backpack transport in La Rioja so you can walk light from day one.
Noáin – Calahorra and Arnedo
The Rioja Baja has good road links towards Navarre, so Pamplona is a real alternative to Zaragoza for Calahorra, Arnedo or Alfaro. Useful for technicians and sales staff working with the canning and footwear industries.
Noáin – Haro and Laguardia
Both destinations can be reached in a little over an hour, although for Haro Bilbao or Vitoria is usually the better option. If your plan is wine tourism, link your arrival with a winery visit with a private driver.
Stage skips and pilgrims heading home
Pamplona Airport is not just for arriving. We also collect pilgrims in La Rioja who need to get back to Noáin because of an injury, a change of plans or because they have finished their section. And if someone in the group needs to skip ahead one or two stages, we organise the jump in our 7-seat van. We explain how on our Camino Francés stage transfers in La Rioja page.
- Tell us where you are on the Camino (hostel, village or stage).
- We confirm the pick-up time and fixed price by WhatsApp.
- We take you to Pamplona Airport, your next stage or whichever station you need.
Away from the Camino, Pamplona also makes a good base during the San Fermín festival, when many visitors take the chance to discover La Rioja. You can compare it with the other airports on our La Rioja airport transfers page.
Travelling with a bike or in a pilgrim group?
Cyclists riding the Camino often land at Noáin with their bike boxed up. Let us know when you book: we assign the Rioja Group van, with room for bike boxes and backpacks, and drop you at your hostel or at the workshop where you will reassemble it. For parish groups or groups of friends of up to seven people, a single vehicle takes you all together from the terminal to the start of your Rioja stage.
Noáin and the wines of Navarre and La Rioja
The A-12 also runs through wine country: the Estella and Los Arcos area belongs to the Navarra appellation, and from Viana onwards the great Rioja wineries begin. If you are coming for a wine break and land in Pamplona, you can reach Logroño by lunchtime and spend the afternoon on Calle Laurel, or head straight to a winery. You will find ideas in our Rioja wine tour from Pamplona.
Frequently asked questions
All about the transfer from Pamplona
How long does it take from Pamplona Airport to Logroño? +
About an hour: it is roughly 90 km on the A-12, the Autovía del Camino, which runs almost parallel to the pilgrim route between Navarre and La Rioja.
How much does a transfer from Pamplona Airport cost? +
It depends on whether you are going to Logroño or further (Haro, Calahorra), how many of you there are and which vehicle you choose. For pilgrim groups, the van spreads the cost between everyone. We send you the fixed price in writing.
What happens if my flight to Pamplona is delayed? +

Yes, especially if you are starting in Logroño: you arrive in an hour through the same area you will be walking. If you are setting off from Santo Domingo or Nájera, compare it with Bilbao too.
