Chauffeur for the grape harvest in La Rioja
Book a grape harvest chauffeur in La Rioja to take care of getting around during a day of winery visits in harvest season. Rioja Transfer handles the transport so you can plan your route without having to coordinate cars on the day.

A chauffeur to organise your day at the wineries
If you have already decided to visit wineries during the harvest, all that's left is to sort out the transport. With a private chauffeur, nobody in the group has to drive after the tastings, the car waits outside each winery and the journeys between Logroño, Haro and Rioja Alavesa are settled before you arrive.
If you would like to follow a classic route through the harvest villages, see our Rioja Alta wine route with a driver. Here we focus on the practical side: arranging a vehicle with a driver for the day you are planning.
Tell us the route you'd like to do
Every plan can be different. So when you request a quote, explain what you have in mind and share whatever information you have. Rioja Transfer will assess the transport service based on the specific details of your request.
- The date you'd like to do the day out.
- Where you need the service to start.
- Any visits or stops you have already planned.
- Number of passengers who will use the vehicle.
- Where you'd like the service to finish.
Enjoy the visits without coordinating several cars
Having a chauffeur means all the transport is organised as a single service. This is especially practical when the plan involves several journeys and you don't want each member of the group to work out separately how to get between the different stops of the day.
Rioja Transfer also offers dedicated services for winery visits. If you are still weighing up how to plan your journeys, take a look at the related pages to see other options and decide which service best fits your plans.
Request a quote for your day
Once you have an idea of the day you want, contact Rioja Transfer and share the details you have. Everything doesn't need to be finalised to make an enquiry, but having the date, starting point, number of passengers and planned itinerary helps us assess the request properly.
You can request a quote through the contact form or message us directly on WhatsApp at +34 603 276 398. The aim is to have the transport sorted before the day, so that getting around is part of the plan rather than something you have to organise during the visits.
“You plan the visits; we take care of the driving.”

A chauffeur for the grape harvest in La Rioja takes you between wineries during the harvest season (roughly September to October) without anyone in the group having to drive. Rioja Transfer sets off from Logroño or your accommodation, waits at each visit and drops you back at your hotel, at a fixed price agreed before the day.
Why is a grape harvest chauffeur in La Rioja more useful than ever?
- Roads with tractors and trailers. At the height of the harvest, the country roads through the vineyards carry slow farm traffic; a driver who uses them every day judges timings better.
- More tastings in a single day. Many wineries run special activities in season, and with a chauffeur nobody has to skip the wines.
- Difficult parking in Haro, Laguardia or Briones on the busiest weekends.
- Tighter schedules. Visits usually have to be booked in advance and places go fast; arriving late can mean losing your slot.
Three typical days in harvest season
| Area | Journey from Logroño | Plan | Recommended service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haro and Rioja Alta | ~45 km, about 40 min | Two wineries in the Barrio de la Estación (Haro's historic Station Quarter), lunch in Haro and a stroll around Briones. | Full day |
| Laguardia and Rioja Alavesa | ~17 km, about 25 min | A winery in the morning, lunch in Laguardia and a second visit in Elciego or Labastida. | Half day or full day |
| Logroño and surroundings | Short journeys | Wineries close to the city and a tasting in the centre before dinner on Calle Laurel, Logroño's famous tapas street. | Half day |
If you already know which area interests you, there is more detail in our Haro winery visit with a driver, the Laguardia winery visit and the Logroño winery tour. All the options are brought together on our hub of winery visits with a chauffeur.
Which vehicle to choose for your day
For a couple, a car from the Executive range (Mercedes EQ or Tesla) is quiet and comfortable between visits. If you are a group of five to seven friends, the Rioja Group van takes you all together and the price is per vehicle. For larger groups we combine vehicles.
Tips for enjoying the grape harvest
- Book the visits before the transport. Each winery sets its own times and prices: check its official website and book ahead.
- Leave time between wineries. Allow at least 30 to 40 minutes between the end of one visit and the start of the next.
- Comfortable shoes and a jacket. The underground cellars are cool even when it's hot outside.
- Eat along the way. A relaxed lunch halfway through the day makes the second tasting all the more enjoyable.
- Coincide (or not) with San Mateo. Logroño's fiestas fall in September; if you are staying in the city on those days, bear in mind the atmosphere and the road closures.
Would you like an idea of the cost before asking for a quote? Tell us your plan through our contact page and we'll explain what the price depends on.
Sample schedule: a Saturday in October in Rioja Alta
To show how the transport fits into the plan, here is an approximate example of a full day starting from Logroño. Exact times depend on the visits you book:
- 9:30 · Pick-up at your hotel in Logroño.
- 10:15 · Arrival in Haro with time for a coffee before the first visit.
- 10:30–12:30 · First winery, with a cellar tour and tasting. The driver waits outside.
- 13:00 · Short transfer for lunch in Haro or Briones.
- 16:00–17:30 · Second winery, perhaps in another Rioja Alta village.
- 18:00 · A stroll around a village with a viewpoint over the vineyards to watch the harvest at sunset.
- 19:00 · Return to Logroño, in time for a dinner of pinchos.
With a plan like this, the driver is available for around nine hours and nobody in the group touches the wheel. If you prefer something shorter, a half day with a single winery and lunch is a good way to start. Tell us your idea and we'll suggest the format that fits best.
And if you are flying into La Rioja just for the harvest, we can link the day with your airport transfer: we pick you up at Bilbao or Vitoria, you drop your bags at the hotel and start the route without losing the day. See our Bilbao airport to Logroño transfer.
Companies also make the most of the harvest to invite clients to a winery or hold a team lunch among the vineyards; in that case, we coordinate several vehicles and invoice in the company's name. And if you'd like to know who will be looking after your day before you book, find out more about us.
