Logroño to Pamplona transfer
A Logroño to Pamplona transfer with a private driver takes you door to door between the two regional capitals in around an hour, with no bus timetables and no train changes.
Quick answer: Logroño to Pamplona is about 90 km on the A-12 (Autovía del Camino), roughly 1 hour depending on traffic. With Rioja Transfer you book at a fixed price, the driver picks you up at your home or hotel and drops you at the exact address in Pamplona, at any hour and in either direction.
There's a lot of coming and going between La Rioja and Navarre: people who work or study in Pamplona, families heading to a medical appointment, companies with suppliers on both sides of the Ebro and, every July, thousands of people who want to experience San Fermín and prefer to sleep in Logroño, where accommodation is easier to find. This page brings together the practical side of that particular journey: times, options, how to plan around the fiesta and what the service includes.

How long does the Logroño to Pamplona transfer take by private car?
The usual route leaves Logroño towards Viana and continues along the A-12, passing Los Arcos, Estella and Puente la Reina before entering Pamplona from the south. It's about 90 km and, in normal conditions, the journey takes around an hour. Add a few minutes to cross the city if your destination is in the north (Rochapea, Txantrea) or in districts such as Mendillorri.
The motorway runs almost parallel to the Camino Francés (French Way), so you'll see pilgrims and Camino waymarks for much of the route. If you have time, the driver can make a short stop in Puente la Reina or Estella; just mention it when you ask for a quote.
Which option suits you best: transfer, bus, train or your own car?
You don't always need a driver, and it's better to say so plainly. This table sums up which situations each option suits:
| Option | Door to door | Schedule | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer | Yes, address to address | Whenever you choose, 24 h | Fixed-time appointments, luggage, groups, early-morning trips, San Fermín. |
| Scheduled bus | No, station to station | Several departures a day | Solo traveller, no rush, staying near the station. |
| Train | No; few connections, often with a change | Infrequent | Rarely the most practical option on this route. |
| Your own car | Yes, but you have to park | Flexible | Outside fiesta time and if nobody in the group will be drinking. |

Logroño to Pamplona transfer during San Fermín: how to plan it
The fiesta begins with the chupinazo (opening rocket) at midday on 6 July and ends with the "Pobre de mí" farewell on the night of 14 July. During those days the bull runs start at 8:00 in the morning and much of central Pamplona has restricted or closed traffic. Hotels fill up early and prices rise sharply, which is why many visitors sleep in Logroño and make the journey every day.
With a private driver you don't have to look for parking or worry about who's driving after a long day. This is how we usually organise the service during the fiesta:
- We choose the drop-off point outside the closed area, a few minutes' walk from Plaza del Castillo or the bull-run route, depending on your plan for the day.
- We set the return time and an easy-to-find meeting point. If your plans change, message us on WhatsApp and we'll rearrange it.
- For the bull run, departure from Logroño is in the early hours. We allow enough margin for you to reach your spot before the barriers close.
- For the chupinazo, we recommend arriving by mid-morning at the latest: on 6 July access routes get gridlocked as midday approaches.
- Book ahead: fiesta dates are the first to fill up, especially the nights of the 6th and the 14th.
"At San Fermín, the best transfer is the one that drops you close to the party and picks you up when you decide it's over."
Which addresses in Pamplona do we cover?
We'll take you to any exact address. These are the most common on this route:
- Hotels in the centre and the Ensanche, near Plaza del Castillo or Avenida Carlos III.
- The hospital area in the San Juan / Iturrama district, home to leading clinics and hospitals. We drop you at the door of your appointment and, if you like, the driver waits.
- University campuses, such as the University of Navarra or the Public University of Navarre, for students, families and visiting lecturers.
- The bus station and train station, to connect with other destinations.
- Industrial estates around Pamplona, for company visits with our corporate service and company invoicing.
- Pamplona Airport (Noáin), which has its own page: Pamplona Airport to La Rioja transfer.
Logroño — Pamplona transfer
Pick-up at your address, a fixed price when you book and a driver available 24 hours, including during San Fermín.
Which vehicle should you choose for Pamplona?
The choice depends on how many of you there are and what the trip is for. For a meeting or a visit as a couple, the Rioja Executive range (electric Mercedes EQ and Tesla, with water and Wi-Fi on board) lets you work or rest during the hour-long journey. If you want something practical, the Rioja Standard range (MG and Toyota) is perfectly suited to a one-hour trip. For groups of friends, especially during the fiesta, the Rioja Group 7-seat van saves splitting everyone across several cars.
How do you book the transfer, step by step?
- Message us through the form or on WhatsApp with the date, time, number of people and both addresses.
- We send you a fixed price that doesn't change because of traffic or short waits.
- You confirm and receive the driver's name and vehicle details before the trip.
- On the day, the driver arrives at your door with time to spare and takes you straight to Pamplona.
- If you need one, you can request an invoice in your company's name at the end.
We work in Spanish and English, which is handy for international visitors coming for the fiesta or the university.
What if your plans continue along the Camino or to the wineries?
Pamplona is also a starting point for many pilgrims who begin in Roncesvalles or Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and want to skip ahead to La Rioja, or the other way round. For them we have a dedicated page on transfers between Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, Roncesvalles and La Rioja, as well as general information on the Camino de Santiago.
If you're coming from Pamplona in the mood for wine, you can turn the transfer into a full day out with our Rioja wine tour from Pamplona. And if your trip continues to the Basque coast, the Logroño to San Sebastián transfer works on the same terms.
Checklist before travelling to Pamplona
- Exact destination address, with number and, for a hospital or campus, the building or entrance.
- Latest arrival time (appointment, meeting, bull run) so we can work out the departure.
- Number of suitcases or bags and whether any children need a child seat.
- If you're returning the same day: driver waiting or pick-up at a fixed time.
- Billing details if the trip is for work.
With that, we'll give you a fixed price in no time. If you'd prefer an unhurried sightseeing visit rather than a transfer, ask us about spending a day in Pamplona from Logroño with a suggested itinerary around the city.
